Email Marketing: Newsletters

I love email marketing. To be honest, I like writing (and reading!) emails in general. Well, most of them anyway. There's a time and place for a marketing email and as much as it is perceived as a very traditional channel it still works. If it is used well, send to the right audience at the right time, not too frequently (We all hate spammers) and yet not only once in a blue moon, containing useful information, suitable message and desirable message, an intriguing yet sound content, an attractive subject line, and offer, clear call to action … It’s a skill; it’s an art, and it should be much more than just a sales pitch.

Newsletters are essentially a component of (email) marketing campaigns and branding, and emails in the overall marketing and content strategy. They are an opportunity to share important news and updates, raise brand awareness, and for the audience to learn more about the vision, people, and business behind the brand or product name as well as a chance to catch up on anything that has passed them by in the past week, month, quarter or year.
